Business EIN Registration
Your business's tax number
An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is your business's federal tax number, for taxes, hiring and a business bank account. Have PressUp apply to the IRS for it with your LLC filing, or get it free from the IRS yourself.
Added to your LLC filing for $79. The IRS itself charges nothing.
What you get
Your EIN, without the forms
- The IRS's application (Form SS-4) filled in from a few plain questions
- Sent to the IRS once the state accepts your LLC
- Your EIN and the IRS's confirmation letter (CP 575), kept in your formation checklist
- An email when it's issued
- If the IRS doesn't issue it, the fee comes back
How it works

-

In Business Formation, have PressUp file your LLC, and add your EIN to the order.

Get your EIN
Once the state accepts your LLC, the IRS issues the EIN, and its letter arrives in your checklist.
The IRS gives EINs free: with a Social Security number or ITIN, you can apply on the IRS's own site and get it at once.
Questions
Before you start
Do I need an EIN?
An LLC with more than one member, a corporation, or any business with employees does. Most banks ask for one to open a business account.
Is it free?
Yes, from the IRS. You pay PressUp only if you have it apply for you with your LLC filing.
Will you ask for my Social Security number?
Only if you have PressUp apply for your EIN: the IRS needs the Social Security number or ITIN of the person responsible for the business. It goes straight to PressUp's filing partner, which keeps it for the application, and PressUp doesn't keep it.
Is it legal or tax advice?
No. PressUp applies with the answers you give it. An accountant can tell you what suits your business.
