How to describe your business so the first draft fits
A few sentences are enough to build your whole site. Here's what to put in them, with a before and after.
PressUp builds your whole site from a short description, so those few sentences do a lot of work. You don't need to be a good writer or know anything about websites. You only need to cover what a customer would want to know.
Start with the basics
Say who you are, what you do and where you do it. That alone tells PressUp which pages you need and who they're for.
Apex Detail is a mobile car detailing business in Dallas.
Name your main services
List what people actually buy from you: the three or four services that make up most of your work. Add prices if you're happy to show them. If you'd rather not show prices, say so.
Say what makes you different
Customers pick you for a reason. Maybe you come to them, you're family run, it's the same cleaner every visit, you work evenings, or you speak Spanish. Put it in. It's often the most useful sentence on the whole site.
Say how customers should reach you
Phone, email, a quote form, booking requests: say which you prefer. If you want a form, mention what you need to know to reply, like the car, the size of the yard or the date of the wedding.
Mention the feel, if you have one in mind
"Friendly and relaxed", "premium", "bold and sporty". If you don't say, PressUp chooses a look that suits your business, and you can change it later by asking.
A before and after
Too short to go on:
Car detailing in Dallas.
Enough for a strong first draft:
Apex Detail is a mobile car detailing business in Dallas. We offer interior detailing, full details and ceramic coating, and we come to you at home or at work. Most customers ask for a quote first, so we'd like a quote form. We want the site to feel premium.
Don't worry about getting it perfect
Your description is a starting point, not a final answer. Once your site is built, you can change anything in the chat: add a service, change a price, rewrite a section or try a different look. If you don't like a change, undo is one tap away.
